Why it matters.
Distinguish an unsteady camera from a moving subject.
A closer look.
Long shutter times and tight magnification make shake easier to see. Better support, a shorter exposure or suitable stabilisation can reduce it.
Photograph a stationary object handheld and from a stable support at the same slow shutter setting.
Keep in mind.
Keeping the camera steady does not stop subject movement or correct an incorrectly focused lens.
