Why it matters.
Keep more freedom to adjust tone and colour before making a shareable image.
A closer look.
A RAW workflow usually includes processing and an export. Compared with camera JPEG, RAW commonly retains more information for exposure and white-balance adjustments.
If your camera supports RAW + JPEG, capture both and compare a white-balance change in your editor.
Keep in mind.
RAW does not repair missed focus or guarantee recovery of clipped sensor data. RAW compression and compatibility vary by camera.
